this year we’re kicking off our digital professional programme with the Masterclasses and The Hof as early as May. We would especially like to invite everyone planning to attend Frankfurter Buchmesse to join our session "How to #fbm26". Here, we’ll share our top tips on how to best prepare for your fair visit. New stages, new opportunities: Submit your ideas for events at #fbm26 |
Whether it is a panel discussion, an expert talk, a cultural policy event, a ‘Meet the Author’ session or a reading – proposals for the stage programme of Frankfurter Buchmesse 2026 can be submitted until 15 May 2026. New this year are the stages in Halls 3.0, 4.0, 5.0 and 6.0. These will provide additional venues for publishing experts and the trade audience to come together and discuss business opportunities, as well as for authors to meet their readers.

Free digital programme to launch in May |
With "The Hof" and our Masterclasses, we invite you to join our free, digital trade events next month. Starting on 18 May, the Masterclasses will offer in-depth sessions on AI adoption, personal branding in self-publishing and digital publishing, as well as a special session for those wishing to attend the book fair as a trade visitor. For the German-language Masterclasses, you will receive instructions prior to the start of the session on how to create real-time subtitles in your preferred language. The Hof on 28 May, hosted by Felix Zeltner, will focus on the theme "From Books to Experiences – The New Ways of Reading”. Register now to enjoy inspiring talks, new contacts, exciting trends and challenges, plus live music and mindfulness.

Translating Chile: Open call for publishers |
As Frankfurter Buchmesse's Guest of Honour 2027, Chile is advancing its international literary presence. The Chilean Division of Cultures, Arts, Heritage and Public Diplomacy has launched a new edition of its "Translating Chile" programme, supporting international publishers in translating and publishing Chilean literature. Applications are open until June 30, 2026. |

Our book fair exhibitors play a decisive role when it comes to the fair's accessibility. How can I design a book fair stand that is accessible to all visitors? What matters most? Where can I find help, and how does this fit into my budget? Tanja Väth from Frankfurter Buchmesse's Fair Operations department shared some insights with us, including a free guide with useful tips for an accessible stand. |

Stories for Children & Young Adults – the spring collection |
The Rights List is a thematic showcase of current children’s and young adult literature from Germany and Austria, and it is released twice a year. As an exhibition, it can be found at international book fairs and other events abroad. All titles are also presented online, including a summary, cover image and further information. |

According to a study, this is the proportion of English-language publications in the scholary sector. In 1990, the figure stood at 94%. Meanwhile, other language groups are gaining ground: By 2023, Indonesian (2.69%) had already overtaken German (1.23%) and French (1.06%). Read more
