The newsletter of Frankfurter Buchmesse Issue 2 / 2026 |
Dear reader,
Artificial intelligence will, in the long run, become a natural part of literary production — at least according to Taiwanese writer and curator Wang Tsung-Wei. In our conversation, he reflects on a literary landscape undergoing profound transformation. What remains unchanged, however, is our commitment to supporting the industry with our grant programmes and masterclasses. You can find all the details in this newsletter.

AI and literature: “No longer a matter of the future” |
What do authorship, acceptance and reading habits look like in a literary world that is increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence? Following the conference ‘The Curated Future: AI, Creativity, and New Paths to Reading Engagement’ in Taipei, we spoke with Taiwanese author Wang Tsung-Wei about creative collaboration between humans and AI. Wang paints a picture of a future in which AI is not just a tool but a partner, and in which readers help shape stories themselves. |

Happy Women's Day! A feminist book collection |
Where do women stand today – in society, at work, in the family? What has become of the feminist movement? Why do we even talk about ‘women's rights’ when women are often exposed to discrimination and violence? The book collection 'Women as Human Beings' brings together 30 German-language titles that explore these questions. Frankfurter Buchmesse will present the collection at international book fairs throughout the year. |
