The trade programme: The "TikTok-Effekt” and AI in Publishing?
|
Like every year, experts from the international publishing industry will discuss current topics in the book and publishing industry in the trade programme at this year's book fair (16 - 20 October 2024). Visitors can look forward to conferences, specialist talks, workshops and networking events. In addition to digital formats (Masterclasses and The Hof), the trade programme stages cover a wide range of topics, including Frankfurt Audio, Frankfurt Kids, The ARTS+, Comics, Rights & Licensing and more.

The new 'Frankfurt Calling' programme is all about culture and politics. Together with its partners, FBM presents opinionated authors such as Roberto Saviano, Mai Thi Nguyen-Kim and Omri Boehm.

Games at FBM and Bologna Children's Book Fair
|
Frankfurter Buchmesse and Bologna Children's Book Fair are cooperating on a new games area. Frankfurt and Bologna are now working together in expanding their existing offerings to include games. Both fairs have a new Games Business Centre. Those who take advantage of the offer in both Frankfurt and Bologna receive a 20% discount.

The Hof Session: Philippines at #fbm25

Register now for the next digital The Hof session on August 29, 2024. Get to know the Philippine's diverse literary influences and burgeoning creative industries as the international community looks ahead at the Phillipines as the Guest of Honour for #fbm25. Literary Translators programme
|
|
Application process for Goldschmidt+ open
|
Young translators can apply for the The Georges Arthur Goldschmidt Programme+ programme until September 23, 2024. The next edition will take place from 5 February - 29 March 2025. The scholarship includes seminars, workshops and networking between participants, publishers and editors. Over a period of six weeks, participants work on a translation project under the guidance of renowned literary translators and visit publishing houses in Germany, France, Austria and Switzerland.

Fellowships supported by Federal Foreign Office
|
Frankfurter Buchmesse has been offering several international fellowship programmes in the book and publishing industry for years, which are supported by the Federal Foreign Office. These include five programmes: Frankfurt International Booksellers (FIB), Frankfurt International Translators (FIT), The Invitation Programme, Frankfurt Fellowship and Special Programme Ukraine.
