"The imagination peoples the air"
|
For five days, Italy, Guest of Honour at Frankfurter Buchmesse 2024, presented its culture and literature on the fairgrounds and in the city of Frankfurt. On the afternoon of the last day of the fair, this year's Guest of Honour bid farewell with the traditional handover of the GuestScroll to the Philippines. With the motto "The imagination peoples the air", the event featured performances by Philippine Madrigal Singers and Datu Rodelio ‘Waway’ Saway, a master artist and musician from the Talaandig community in Lantapan, Bukidnon.

Early Bird Discounts until 30 November
|
Are you planning on being an exhibitor at Frankfurter Buchmesse 2025 (15-19 October 2025)? You have multiple options of stand models, individual self-built stands, workstations, themed work centres and collective stands.
Until 30 November 2024, you can benefit from early bird discount rates when registering. The official closing date for applications for stands and tables in the LitAg is 31 January 2025. The closing date for applications for the PRC, Workstations, Comics Business Centre and collective stands is 31 March 2025.

"There’s no one who can’t become a reader"
|
Mkuki Bgoya runs one of Tanzania's few publishing houses. His goal is to establish a culture of reading in his native country. In an interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, he talked about Tanzania's publishing landscape and his participation in the Frankfurter Buchmesse's Invitation Programme. The programme enables publishers from developing book nations to take part in the world's largest industry gathering in Frankfurt. It is organised by Frankfurter Buchmesse and funded by the German Federal Foreign Office.

Anniversary & Congress in 2025
|
|
200 years of the German Publishers and Booksellers Association
|
In 2025, the German Publishers and Booksellers Association will celebrate its 200th birthday. In June, the congress in Berlin will focus on current and future topics and challenges facing the book industry. Early Bird ticket prices for the congress are available until 31 January 2025. Special Anniversary campaigns, events and other digital formats are planned throughout the whole year.

|
The Frankfurter Buchmesse team is present at international book fairs all over the world, giving you the opportunity to discover German publishers at our collective stands, find out about the latest trends and awards, and take part in the specialist programmes and events. The next stop will be Guadalajara (30 November - 8 December 2024), followed by Taipei, Bruxelles, Bologna, London and Abu Dhabi. In addition to the exhibitors' products at the stand, we will be presenting our book collections - including the Rights List - Stories for Children and Young Adults 2024/2025.

At the HarperCollins Stand in Hall 3.0, we met up with Bridgerton Author Julia Quinn, who talked about possible future books, female role models and her personal favorite Bridgerton Bestie. Fiction, Non-fiction, Biographies, Education and Classic literature are the Top 5 most purchased book genres in Germany. The data stems from this year's RISE Bookselling Study Report on Consumer Trends and Reading Habits which was conducted in Spring 2024 across 19 countries.
